NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Scottie Scheffler birdied every hole but the par 3s on the front nine at Albany Golf Club on Friday and finished his bogey-free round with an 8-under 64 that gave him a two-shot lead in the Hero World Challenge. Two months off did nothing to slow the world’s No. 1 player. Scheffler already has eight victories this year and is in position to get another before the end of the year. Scheffler was at 13-under 131, two ahead of Akshay Bhatia (66) and Justin Thomas (67), both of whom had to save par on the 18th hole to stay in range going into the weekend. Scheffler started with a lob wedge to 2 feet for birdie and never slowed until after he went out in 29 to seize control of the holiday tournament against a 20-man field. Scheffler cooled slightly on the back nine, except it didn’t feel that way to him. “Front nine, just things were going my way. Back nine, maybe not as much,” Scheffler said. “A couple shots could end up closer to the hole, a couple putts go in, just little things.” Asked if he felt any frustration he didn’t take it lower — he once shot 59 at the TPC Boston during the FedEx Cup playoffs — Scheffler sounded bemused. “I think in this game I think a lot of all y’all are looking for perfection out of us,” he said. “Today I shot 8 under on the golf course, not something I hang my head about. A lot of good things out there — clean card, bogey-free, eight birdies. Overall, I think I’m pretty pleased.” Thomas felt his 67 was stress-free, particularly the way he was driving the ball. The wind laid down again, rare for the Bahamas, though it is expected to pick up on the weekend. Thomas wasn’t concerned to see Scheffler get off to a hot start, especially with three par 5s on the front nine and a short par 4 that at worst leaves a flip wedge to the green. “You literally can birdie every hole as soft as the greens are,” Thomas said. “He’s a great player, a great wedge player, and you have a lot of birdie holes to start. I’m honestly surprised he only shot 8 under. It’s a sneaky course because if you fall asleep on some shots, you can get out of position. But if you’re on and focused and really in control of everything — like these last two days with no wind — you can just make so many birdies.” Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley had a 67 and was four shots behind. No matter how benign the conditions, it wasn’t always easy. Cameron Young, who opened with a 64 for a two-shot lead, followed with a 75 despite making five birdies. That included a double bogey on the final hole when his approach tumbled down the bank into the rocks framing the lake that goes all the way down the 18th hole. Patrick Cantlay was trying to keep pace playing alongside Scheffler, but he had three bogeys over the final seven holes and fell seven shots behind with a 71. The tournament, hosted by Tiger Woods, is unofficial but offers world ranking points to all but the bottom three players because of the small field. It’s the weakest field in 25 years, but Scheffler at No. 1 gives it enough cachet. He is the first player since Woods in 2009 to start and finish a year at No. 1 in the world. And even after a layoff — giving him time to tinker with a new putting stroke — it looks like it might be a while before anyone changes that. ___ AP golf:

Jerzy Pomianowski is a Polish career diplomat who has been based in Brussels for over a decade, leading the European Endowment for Democracy (EED), an organisation that supports democratic and civil initiatives worldwide, including in Ukraine. Pomianowski has a keen understanding of how Western attitudes toward Ukraine and Russia’s war against Ukraine are evolving. Sergiy Sydorenko, the European Pravda's editor, has spoken with Pomianowski, whose position is very close to realpolitik. It included points about the West's perspective on the war and potential "compromises" that might unsettle or even offend some in the Ukrainian audience. Rather than dismissing these viewpoints, they need to be understood and addressed. Read more in the the full interview – "The West is preparing Ukraine for negotiations rather than victory." Such a clear change of administration will make a difference. The only thing we know about Trump is that he is unpredictable. It is very difficult to guess what his next move will be. This unpredictability means that it will be difficult to make any long-term plans. It does not necessarily have to have negative consequences. Sometimes it is positive because if something is not working, you can quickly change strategy and jump to another deal and another deal. A scenario where Trump hands Ukraine over to Putin, I don't consider a serious one. We need to keep in mind that there is a strong perception among the military community within the US that the war with Russia in Ukraine is extremely important from a strategic point of view , that it cannot simply be given up for some small political deals. But at the same time, the US interest is to make sure that Putin is not going out of this war stronger, because that would be against the US interest. I have this extremely strong voice in my head that is related to 1918. Тhere were two people – French Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau and US General John Pershing – who were saying: we cannot stop now, we have to go to Berlin. Because if we don't do this, we will have a war in 20 years. But the public, in France, in the US and the UK, were so tired of the war that they demanded an immediate ceasefire, immediate peace. What we see today (here I am being absolutely blunt and down to the ground) is that the language of today's political discourse about Ukraine is a preparatory process for some kind of negotiations. Not a preparation for victory. That is the real danger. If you have such feelings that would dominate in the public in Western Europe, in the US, then of course no politician will be able to overrule such pressure. Because that’s how democracy works. Here is where the role of Ukrainian society comes in. We at the EED believe that the whole of society in today's world – through social media, through advocacy campaigns, through different mechanisms – can communicate the will of the Ukrainian people to other societies. But at the moment, if an ordinary Polish or Belgian person talks to their Ukrainian neighbour, they receive mixed messages which are not only about Ukraine’s readiness to defend itself. People hear things like "I don't know what's going on there," or "Corruption is still high, because you can pay and cross the border." This kind of cacophony that comes from ordinary Ukrainians all accumulates to one general message: that Ukrainian society is getting weaker than it was at the beginning of the war. This harms Ukraine. What we see today (here I am being absolutely blunt and down to the ground) is that the language of today's political discourse about Ukraine is a preparatory process for some kind of negotiations. Not a preparation for victory. That’s why NATO membership and EU membership are two elements that cannot be given up in any future negotiation. That will disable Russia’s ability to relaunch the war after 2, 3, 5, 7 years. I hope that pan-European support will be strong enough to give Ukraine the ability to manoeuvre, to strike those short-term deals with the US whenever the situation allows, and to prepare a better negotiating position for the future so-called peace talks. The all-new platform to be powered by technology from Sologenic and leverage Texture Capital's deep expertise as a licensed broker-dealer for digital asset securities SoloTex will layer technology and expertise in asset tokenization from CoreNest Capital's partner companies Sologenic and Coreum underneath Texture Capital's position as a FINRA Member and SEC-registered broker-dealer for digital asset securities. Our Indiana Jones and the Great Circle guide will show you how to photograph the inscriptions and where to find all four Strange Inscriptions. Table of Contents How to take photos of Strange Inscriptions Where to find the Strange Inscriptions Strange Inscription 1 location Strange Inscription 2 location Strange Inscription 3 location Strange Inscription 4 location How to take photos of Strange Inscriptions Finding the inscriptions scattered around the Vatican is one thing, but actually getting the picture Indy wants is a whole other challenge. When you get close to an inscription (or any photo-worthy scene), you’ll see a camera icon pop up in the upper left corner of your screen. Pressing up on the D-pad equips your camera, and then holding the left trigger brings it to your eye. From there, you just have to frame the photo the way the game wants. Luckily, you’ve got a guide. Unluckily, the game doesn’t explain that guide. When you’re looking through the viewfinder, you’ll see two sets of brackets: one thin and solid white, and the other fuzzy. Your goal is to get them both lined up. If the fuzzy brackets are inside of the solid ones, that means your subject is too small and you need to either get closer or zoom in. If they’re outside, that means the subject is too big and you need to back up or zoom out. Once you get the brackets aligned, you’ll get a take picture prompt on the screen. Where to find the Strange Inscriptions With the camera in hand, Indy’s map will change to include the rough locations of all four of the strange inscriptions you’re looking for. The numbers in the image above correspond to the descriptions below. Strange Inscription 1 location Once you buy the camera from Ernesto, leave the post office and take a right. Follow the road through the big doors to the next courtyard. Head through the second door on the right — it’s got a gate you can push through. Inside, you’ll see some hedges that are being trimmed. Head all the way to the back of this area and look to the right to find the first Strange Inscription . Strange Inscription 2 location Head back out of the hedge area and take a right (heading west). Go through the doors to return to Belvedere Courtyard . Straight ahead of you, there’ll be a fountain. Loop around to the right side of the fountain to find the next Strange Inscription . In our experience, this one is the trickiest to get framed correctly. You’ll probably have to zoom way in, and then take a couple of steps back to get it lined up. Strange Inscription 3 location From the fountain, head to the south end of Belvedere Courtyard. The Blackshirts are building a stage of some sort there. Head to the right side of the stage and sneak around to the back. Use your whip to climb to the top of the scaffolding. When you reach the balcony, turn to the right and follow it over to find Strange Inscription 3 . Strange Inscription 4 location Turn around from Strange Inscription 3 and head to the far side of the balcony. There’s a Blackguard to deal with — if he’s sitting on the railing, you can always just click the right thumbstick to push him off (it’s super satisfying). Use your whip to climb the scaffolding. At the top, turn to the right to find an open window. Hop into the hallway there — this is where you’ll find the “House of God” mystery — and continue out a window on the other side. This will bring you to the Borgia Courtyards . Turn right to find more scaffolding to climb. Climb that, and the final Strange Inscription will be a little to the left. The Chiefs lost their first game of the season last week against the Buffalo Bills. Kansas City allowed 30 points in the loss, marking the first time they've allowed more than 28 points in a game since 2022. One defensive player who hasn't seen the field much is linebacker Josh Uche, who the Chiefs acquired from the New England Patriots prior to Week 9. In the three games since being acquired, by trade, Uche has played a combined 25 defensive snaps. © Stephen R. "I mean, listen, we've got a lot of guys who can rotate in there. A lot of the guys now, especially in the D-line room when we're getting into situational things where we've got guys earmarked for certain situations, sometimes they come up [and] sometimes they don't." US Senator Tom Cotton has introduced a Senate bill that seeks to eliminate the federal use of the term “West Bank” and instead implement the use of “Judea and Samaria”, claiming the terminology aligns with Israel’s historical and biblical claims to the territory. Judea and Samaria is the term for the occupied West Bank. The proposed legislation mirrors a House bill introduced earlier this year by Representatives Claudia Tenney, Randy Weber, and Anthony D’Esposito. If enacted, the measure would remove all references to “West Bank” from government documents, replacing them with the biblical name. “The Jewish people’s legal and historic rights to Judea and Samaria go back thousands of years. The US should stop using the politically charged term West Bank to refer to the biblical heartland of Israel,” Cotton said in a statement. The move comes amid growing international criticism of Israel’s policies in the occupied territories. In July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of the West Bank under international law, challenging the legitimacy of Israeli settlements, which now house nearly 700,000 Israeli settlers. The UN has documented a sharp increase in violence, with nearly 1,000 killed in the West Bank since 2022 due to Israeli military raids and settler attacks. Proponents of the bill argue it solidifies US support for Israel - and its settlement activity - a stance long championed by Republican donors such as Miriam Adelson, who has provided significant financial backing to GOP campaigns. In February, Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasised that expanding settlements in the West Bank undermines Israel’s security and contradicts US policy, which traditionally supports a two-state solution. But little has been done by the US to stop Israeli settlement building aside from a handful of sanctions against individual settlers. The origins of this legislative effort can be traced back to earlier Republican initiatives. Representative Tenney introduced the “Recognizing Judea and Samaria Act,” which sought to update existing US legislation, such as the Foreign Assistance Act, to replace “West Bank” with “Judea and Samaria” in February. “The Israeli people have an undeniable and indisputable historical and legal claim over Judea and Samaria. At this critical moment in history, the United States must reaffirm this,” Tenney said. Israel’s claims to the West Bank, captured during the Six-Day War in 1967, have been a flashpoint for decades. While the Oslo Accords of the 1990s granted Palestinians limited self-governance in parts of the territory, the situation has deteriorated significantly. The recent surge in violence, after the Hamas-led 7 October 2023 attack on southern Israel and the subsequent war on , has intensified tensions, with human rights groups deeming 2023 the deadliest year for Palestinian children in the occupied West Bank. Cotton’s bill reflects a broader Republican agenda to unconditionally support Israel while disregarding Palestinian self-determination. As Cotton prepares to chair the Senate Foreign Relations Committee under the incoming Trump administration, the legislation signals a significant shift in US Middle East policy. In September, the US House of Representatives passed a that designated products from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank as originating from “Israel”. This bill was also sponsored by Tenney, who was behind the House bill on renaming the occupied West Bank. This bill, titled the "Anti-BDS Labeling Act," solidified a policy that critics argue undermines Palestinians' UN-recognised territorial claims and champions Israel’s annexation efforts while directly targeting the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions , sending a clear message against those advocating for Palestinian human rights. The policy, introduced by then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in 2020, was viewed by as pushing the boundaries further than Israel’s own efforts. Now, it stands on the cusp of becoming permanent US law. The bill passed with a vote of 231 to 189 and received support from 16 Democrats, including some of the party’s most pro-Israel members. It mandates that products from the occupied West Bank and Gaza no longer be labelled together but separately, effectively erasing the recognition of their unified identity. Products would read either "West Bank" or "Gaza", rather than "West Bank and Gaza". The proposal further stipulates that products from the majority of the occupied West Bank will be labelled as “Product of Israel” or “Made in Israel.” Critics warned that the legislation complicates efforts to support Palestinian rights by making it harder to boycott products from illegal Israeli settlements. Opponents, including Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan), the bill as a step toward ethnic cleansing, saying, “A ‘yes’ vote for this bill is erasing the existence of Palestinians”. “Yeah, that’s right - Palestinians also have a right to exist,” she added. Tlaib, the sole Palestinian-American member of Congress, highlighted the troubling trend of conservative lawmakers inciting hostility toward Arabs, Muslims, and Palestinians. She pointed to a recent hearing where Senator John Kennedy (R-Louisiana) echoed racist sentiments, Arab-American expert Maya Berry that she ought to “hide [her] head in a bag”. “The provisions of this bill, Mr Speaker, carry hateful and discriminatory implications,” Tlaib said. “We must unite against it and vote no.”For Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce , 2024 was a year full of personal, professional and romantic highs. The couple — who began dating in summer 2023 — started and ended 2024 on positive notes. Kelce, 35, and the Kansas City Chiefs took home their second consecutive Super Bowl title in February, while Swift, 35, ended her record-breaking Eras Tour in December. “It can be very lonely at the top,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month. “This tour was one of the best [for Taylor] because Travis brightened it up.” Between Kelce’s football games and Swift’s historic shows, the pair also enjoyed plenty of adorable date nights and public shout-outs, including new music from Swift allegedly documenting their romance. While the source told Us that “Taylor does feel like Travis is The One,” the couple are reportedly not looking to take any drastic steps forward in their relationship heading into the new year. “Taylor and Travis are eager to spend quality time together because [that’s when] the little nuances about someone’s personality and habits come into play,” the insider shared. “They will learn so much about each other.” Scroll down for a roundup of Swift and Kelce’s biggest 2024 moments: After the Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in a New Year’s Eve, Swift and Kelce rang in 2024 by sharing a midnight kiss at a party in Kansas City. “ It was fun ,” Travis said of the get-together on his and brother Jason Kelce ’s “New Heights” podcast. “It was cool, man, to have all the friends and family [there]. I think I had over 50, 55 people come in for this one.” On January 28, Swift traveled to Maryland to cheer on the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens. After Travis’ team secured their Super Bowl spot, Swift congratulated him down on the field with a kiss . As Travis prepared for the Super Bowl, Swift scored two wins at the 2024 Grammy Awards for her 10th studio album, Midnights . “ She’s unbelievable ,” Travis told reporters at a Super Bowl press conference . “She’s rewriting the history books herself. I told her I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain and come home with some hardware too.” Travis did uphold his “end of the bargain” by helping the Chiefs win Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers. Swift traveled all the way from Tokyo to watch her boyfriend’s big game, sitting alongside her and Travis’ families and some of her celebrity friends, including Blake Lively and Ice Spice . In another sweet PDA moment, Swift celebrated Travis and the Chiefs’ second consecutive Super Bowl victory with a post-game kiss on the field. Travis later made his first-ever appearance on Swift’s social media in a funny TikTok video she posted from a Super Bowl afterparty . Travis later joined Swift in Australia when she hit the road again for The Eras Tour . In addition to trading friendship bracelets and handing out guitar picks at her shows, the couple enjoyed a fun day out at the Sydney Zoo . Travis continued to spend his NFL off-season supporting Swift at a number of herinternational concerts, including two of her Singapore shows . Swift was spotted running into the athlete’s arms and kissing him backstage after once again changing her “Karma” lyrics from “guy on the screen” to “guy on the Chiefs.” In more social media footage from the shows, Travis gave the tour’s cast and crew their props by high-fiving them backstage. Shortly after the pair were spotted packing on the PDA at Coachella , Swift released her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department . Swifties quickly theorized that several songs on the record were about her romance with Travis , including “The Alchemy” and “So High School.” “Truth, dare, spin bottles / You know how to ball, I know Aristotle,” she sings in “So High School” refrain. “Brand new, full throttle / Touch me while your bros play Grand Theft Auto .” Travis’ close friend Harry Clark seemingly confirmed that “So High School” was about Travis by sharing an Instagram Story pic of himself playing the video game Grand Theft Auto . Swift incorporated TTPD into her Eras Tour setlist beginning with her Paris shows, which Travis attended . In true Swift fashion, fans noticed that the new section of the show featured several nods to Travis , including bleachers and stadium lights graphics on the stage during “So High School” and Swift and her dancers mimicking Travis’ touchdown moves in the choreography. “It was fun, it was a blast,” Travis said of the Paris shows on the “New Heights” podcast. “I had a blast at Tay’s show. Her new rendition of The Eras Tour , I suggest everybody go see it. It has her new Tortured Poets Department [album], a handful of those songs in the new show, which means there’s a new segment and new lights and new dancing, new everything to the f—ing show. I suggest everybody get out there and see [her]. It is absolutely unbelievable .” Swift’s London Eras Tour shows were full of surprises, including Swift and Travis taking a backstage selfie with Prince William and his two eldest kids, Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 9. The photo marked the first time Swift posted Travis on her Instagram feed. Travis followed-up the photo by joining Swift and her dancers on stage at Wembley Stadium during the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” intro skit. He sported a black morning suit and top hat to help Kameron Saunders and Jan Ravnik get ready to perform the number. “ I’m still cracking up /swooning over @killatrav’s Eras Tour debut 🥰,” Swift captioned an Instagram slideshow featuring pics and clips of Travis’s cameo. “Never going to forget these shows.” Travis gave his girlfriend a sweet — and hilarious — shout-out after winning a karaoke competition at the 5th Annual American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, California. “Taylor, this is for you,” he said in social media footage after scoring his victory, pretending to burst into tears. “I love you guys.” Swift and Travis enjoyed a break from touring and football by hosting a get-together at the singer’s Rhode Island mansion. Celebrity attendees included Jason, 37, and his wife, Kylie Kelce , 32, Lively, 37, Ryan Reynolds , Bradley Cooper , Gigi Hadid , Zoë Kravitz , Channing Tatum and Patrick and Brittany Mahomes . “It has felt wonderful to be grounded back home again,” a source exclusively told Us of the party. “It’s been grounding to see friends and family and spend quality time with everyone, chat and get downloaded on everyone’s worlds because she has been so busy and disconnected.” Swift re-entered her football era by attending the Chiefs’ season opener game against the Ravens and was spotted leaving the match holding Travis’ hand . She even planted a kiss on his cheek in a post-game snap shared by Chariah Gordon . The duo enjoyed another sporting event together later that month, attending the men’s singles final between Taylor Fritz and Jannik Sinner at the 2024 US Open . Not only were they photographed kissing one another, but they were spotted jamming to Darkness’ hit song “I Believe in a Thing Called Love.” That same month, Swift took home seven wins at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. In her speech for Video of the Year, she gave Travis a heartfelt shout-out . “I would finish a take and I’d say cut and we’d be done with that take, I would always just hear someone cheering ‘woo’ from across the studio where we were shooting it, and that one person was my boyfriend, Travis,” she said at the time. Swift added: “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic, so I wanna thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that.” Swift and Kelce joined Lively and Reynolds, 48, for a double date in New York City. Fans noticed that their outfits subtly coordinated with one another, as she was carrying a black Dior saddle bag and Travis sported a shirt with a horse design. Ahead of The Eras Tour ’s final leg, Travis attended what would be his last show in Indianapolis. The city marked Swift’s final U.S. stop before traveling to Canada for her last batch of concerts. “I’ll tell you what, man, the American crowds, they did not disappoint,” Travis told Jason on the “New Heights” podcast. “I heard that it was a lot more rowdy this time around, knowing she was coming back to stop through America one last time before the tour was over with. I’ll tell you what, man, that thing was rocking.” You have successfully subscribed. However, he became the fastest tight end in NFL history to reach 12,000 career receiving yards during the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers that same day. He congratulated Swift on the end of her tour on the “New Heights” podcast, stating, “Shout-out to everybody that was a part of that show. Obviously, it’s her music, her tour and everything, but that was a full production, man. That thing was the best tour in the world because of a lot of people, but mostly because of Taylor.” Less than a week after her final Eras Tour performance, Swift giggled at a fan’s blanket which read “Go Taylor’s Boyfriend” during a visit to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
